The Gas Technology Institute's recently released report, Pipeline Quality Biomethane: North American Guidance Document for Introduction of Dairy Waste Derived Biomethane into Existing Natural Gas Network provides a comprehensive study and guidance document for anaerobic digester developers interested in producing pipeline quality renewable natural gas. The report is also a useful, detailed overview of all of the issues involving producing pipeline quality biomethane from dairy manure.

This effort, GTI project number 20614, provides guidance needed for the introduction of biomethane from dairy waste into existing pipelines. To support this effort, three areas of focus have been captured, with independent reports:
GTI is also implementing a similar gas testing and quality program for biogas/biomethane derived from landfills and waste water treatment plants to provide guidance for a growing green energy market from these biomass sources. Results from this project are anticipated at the end of 2009.
Agri-Waste Energy participated in this project with the Gas Technology Institute (GTI). And, GTI has provided the following letter supporting Agri-Waste Energy’s approach to “gas clean-up”:
